At the King's death on the 13th of June, 1886, Neuschwanstein was still only a construction site..
Until the end of his life, King Ludwig II lived in Neuschwanstein for merely 102 days.
It's taken from the window inside the Neuschwanstein.
Since it's not allowed to take any pic inside the castle, I can only take pics outside the window.
King Ludwig II decided to have an apartment installed in the gate house so that he could observe the construction directly.
Besides that it was possible to set up comfortable apartments for the building supervisors in this Gate House.
We played an very exciting game here but I don't know the exact name of it.
It's something like bob-sleighing on the tracks.
It very fast and exciting and I even played it twice!
The small white church on the left is the famous pilgrimage church of St Coloman (1673)
This church possessed notable late-Gothic carvings, and was named after an Irish pilgrim who rested here.
